Review of 2005 by Anne Alderman
We had a quiet start competition wise at the beginning of the year, which accumulated in attending a show every week-end in July, and then all went fairly quiet again!
Breeze & Badger both had their cruciate ligaments stabilized at the beginning of the year, forcing them both into retirement, much to Claire & my disappointment. But Spencer made a come back and what a come back!!
For the majority of us, we ventured up to Anglesey for the first time for a 10 day holiday, taking in 3 Open competitions & 1 multibreed. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and most of us have booked our pitches on Ruth's site for 2006.
We had a very mixed bag of results in competition this year! We always managed to get ourselves in the 'wrong' division! We didn't have a very exciting start to the year, and by May the teams were slightly re-arranged. The Allsorts then went on to have some good racing, if not always in the placings gaining their best time of 19.49 secs. Hotdogs, on the other hand, weren't going so well, with Molly & Spencer in the same team (Molly had other ideas rather than flyball, with Spencer around!) But by July, the Hotdogs had begun to get their act together, even if it meant Chris box loading for the team, and 'x' running Spencer (And what fun we had with that!!), and finally went on to obtain their best ever time over 14", of 18.69 secs. But the finale was to get that elusive 1st place at our last show. On the other hand, things had started to go wrong for Allsorts in July, when Meg had a collision and a few near misses, through no fault of her own. But again, by the last show of the year, she had begun to get her confidence back, and they came 2nd in their division.
We had 4 new & young dogs joining the teams, and they've all done extremely well. Last year's 'babies' are now well-established team dogs, and Molly & Spencer are, well Molly & Spencer!!
Team points over the year - Allsorts gained 11388 between 11 dogs over 10 shows Hotdogs gained 19820 between 10 dogs over 15 shows And Doggy Mixtures (Mulitbreed) gained 1065 between 5 dogs over 2 shows!

Review of 2003 by Anne Alderman
We started the year well, fielding 2 regular teams at Petersfield over the winter/spring. Then it started to go wrong! Abby, Barley and Breeze were all off with various lameness problems, which meant our 'older' dogs ended up doing more and more work! By the time summer had arrived, we were struggling to get one team together at times, let alone two! Dogs & handlers had to cope with being mixed up, rarely running within the same team, or combination of dogs. But we've come through it, and by the middle/end of the year, Rosie, Ollie & Tosh had joined in the teams, and with Abby returning to full work, (Breeze on stand by), we managed to finish the year with quite a few 1st places. Sadly, we haven't seen the return of Barley, our much valued height dog (the only occasion we ran under 19 secs this year, was back in March, with Barley). Fingers crossed for a Barley return in 2004??
I wasn't sure that our dogs were going to gain many titles this year, due to lack of dog power, but some how, we have another good 'stash' of Title achievers, so congratulations to all the following: Ice Blue Moon Award - Abby; Gold Award - Monty; Silver Award - Spencer; Flyball Dog Advanced - Badger, Molly, Ready Eddie & Ben F; Flyball Dog Graduate - Rosie & Toddy; Flyball Dog Intermediate - Ollie; and Flyball Dog - Daisy & Tosh
Team points over the year - Allsorts gained 20180 between 16 dogs over 19 shows. Hotdogs gained 17426 between 14 dogs over 13 shows, and Doggy Mixtures gained 596 between 9 dogs over 2 shows!
In the seed rankings, Hotdogs got to 28th with 19.08, and Allsorts 32nd with 19.33. And in the world rankings (best ever times, not our present seed times) we stood at 156th Hotdogs, 246th Allsorts and 396th Doggy Mixtures (Multibreed team).
Here's looking forward to a 'better' forthcoming year, even if it means we are going to have to travel a little further.

For the third year running, we managed to break our previous records again, even if only by a small amount! Hotdogs went from 18.59 to 18.30 in March (Indoors), giving us 118th place in the World. And with our current seed time (18.45), we are 10th in Britain.
Allsorts also excelled themselves indoors in the latter part of the year, taking us from 19.86 to 19.59. This puts them 219th in the World, and with that as our current seed time, puts us 36th in Britain.
Doggy Mixtures ran as a multibreed team to gain their fastest ever, 20.75 (with 2 height dogs!), putting them 315th in the World, and 9th in the British multibreed seedings list.
The points have accumulated well over the year again. Congratulations go to the following:
| FD | FDi | FDg | FDa | Silver | Gold |
| Molly | Molly | Spencer | Spencer | Abby | Abby |
| Eddie | Eddie | Bazil | Barley | ||
| Toddy | Breeze | Breeze | Monty | ||
| Lady | Ben F | ||||
| Badger | |
Team points over the year - Allsorts gained 19824 points over 16 shows. Hotdogs gained 18493 over 13 shows, and Doggy Mixtures gained 1136 over 4 shows (I think!!) Here's looking forward to some good racing this year, and lets try and get our starters going!!

Review of 2001 by Anne Alderman
Wow! What a year we've had!. All 3 teams have broken previous records, and (hopefully) look set to continue the trend into 2002.
With Thorn out of action early in the year, we thought we may be in trouble. But Bazil came to the rescue! Although still very young (and inexperienced at the time), he he coped brilliantly with the pressure of being a Hotdog, as did Monty, Breeze, Abby and Barley (and there is no Hotdogs if Abby and Barley don't run!). We started off the year with a seed time of 19.66, and have managed to reduce it by another 1.07 sec, to 18.59. I think this goes to prove that keeping the same dogs in the same team, is the way forward.
Allsorts had a fairly mixed bag of dogs. If there was no Barley (or other height dogs), the collies ran over full height. Otherwise it was down to Eddie and Snip to keep the jump height down. I think Spencer is the the only dog to have raced continually in this team all year. And he's done them proud! In a team of fast collies, over full height jumps, they managed to get Allsorts time down from 21.09 to 19.86.
And finally the Doggy Mixtures, who were usually made up of 'those who are left'? The team went from a very slow dogs, to a faster 'starter' type team. But again, they managed to get there seed time down from 22.93 to 21.90.
Our new starter dogs have done well in 2001 (ie those who have never competed before). These include, Bazil and Herbie who both gained there FD titiles at their first sanctioned tournements. Daisy, Callie and Toddy have also done well. Not forgetting Molly, who has been competing in most of the Starters events this year.
Another first for us is that Abby, Barly and Monty have all gained their FDa titles. Also gaining gaining titles in 2001 were Bazil, Ready Eddie, Lady, Snip, Herbie and Toddy gaining their FD titles. Bazil, Badger,Ginny, Spencer and Breeze, gaining there FDi titles. And Bazil, Monty and Barley gaining their FDg titles. It turned out to be a particularly good year!
We somehow managed to win Div4 in the 2001 Summer Championships. We have never won anything like this before. We have now received a silver cup, inscribed with 2001 Bassett Allsorts! This has been given to Dave to look after, as Spencer raced in the Allsorts team on all 3 occasions!
The dog's points accumulated, as they have never done before! The Hotdogs gained more points at one show, than we used to earn over a whole year! And they did this on a regular basis! As a team the Hotdogs gained 15628 points over 11 shows, Allsorts gained 10788 points over 16 shows and Doggy Mixtures 800 points over 5 shows.
Despite Foot and Mouth earlier in the year, flyball managed to continue. Only one show was cancelled, but we found an alternative one to go to! (thanks to Anton).We attended 17 shows. Only on 4 occasions did we enter one team, and twice we have enterred all 3 teams.
In the world rankings , we leap frogged our way up the rankings, but not quite into the top 100. At the time the WR was 15.88 (Rocket Relay), Hotdogs made 112th with 18.59, Allsorts 207th (19.86), and Doggy Mixtures 322nd (21.90).
An finally (if you need an incentive to do well at Cleverdogs)......the Cleverdogs results for 2001. Snip came 3rd overall in the Mini's. And Monty and Breeze were placed 2nd in the pairs (mixed). They all received lovely rosettes and Alvah vouchers for their top 3 placings.
So as you can see, all in all, we have had a particularly good year. Thank you to everyone who helped to make it such a good year, and heres looking forward to 2002.

Review of 2000 by Anne Alderman
As the first year of the Millennium (depending on how you look at it!) closes, taking a look back, I think it was marginally better than 1999, especially for Hotdogs
With Thorn, Abby, Barley, Maskell, Ginny (and later Monty) making up the main Hotdogs team, they smashed their 1999 record of 20.62 down to 20.11 in January, and for the majority of the year they were maintaining low 20s. We knew they must be able to break the twenty second barrier, but when? It finally came at no better time than our own show at Charlton Park when they reduced their best by another 0.45 seconds to 19.66, and not just once but 4 or 5 times over the course of the day.
The Allsorts and Doggy Mixtures have been very mixed, due to being made up of "whoever else wants to go" to the show. It would be great if in 2001 we could have two further regular teams - as Hotdogs have proved, this must be the way forward.
Another first for us is that Abby has gained her FD Graduate (3000 points) title. Also gaining titles this year were Monty H, Fudge, Spencer and Breeze, all gaining their FD titles and Monty H, Maskell, Ben F and Jesse gaining their FDI titles.
We entered 12 events in 2000. Allsorts entered in 11, Hotdogs 8 and Doggy Mixtures 6. In addition we had 2 starters teams at Charlton Park.
Highlight of the year was our first show at Chalton Park - it was very hard work but a tremendous success. Whether we run another next year remains to be seen ...

Review of 1999 by Anne Alderman
What a year we had in 1999! We've had happy and sad events, some excellent racing and some not so good. The majority of shows we have managed to enter (sometimes with a struggle) two teams, but at Longleat we excelled ourselves with 4 starters teams, 2 four breed teams, 1 scent hurdling team plus lots of clever dogs!
We started off on a good note in January at Petersfield entering two multibreed teams, of which "AIlsorts" were 4th with our best time of 21.71 seconds. At Longleat in four breed we came 3rd On both of these occasions we were, in effect, in Division 1.
Hot Dogs have certainly been going great guns. At their first show they totally smashed their previous records doing 20.70 seconds, and at Stoneleigh 20.83 seconds. The starters at Longleat, who ran as Hot Dogs, not to be outdone also recorded 20.94 seconds. To finish the year at Petersfield they recorded a cracking 20.62 seconds, winning Division 2. Anton's prediction that we should manage sub 20 seconds is becoming close to reality!
Another first for our teams is to have gained our first FDI dogs for gaining 1000 points. In 1994 we never imagined we would ever do this! Well done to Abby, Barley, Paris and Thorn. More of our dogs have gained their FD titles - well done to Thorn, Connor and Ginny.
In all we entered 11 BFA sanctioned events in 1999 !
