New Year Party – Mon 1st January (Report by Anne Alderman)

I hope you all enjoyed the party. I was really impressed with our starters, they all raced brilliantly! (As did the team dogs, of course!) And they all looked to enjoy the added excitement of racing, although some looked quite tired by the end of the afternoon.

I invited the Kiddy Monsters, as we tend to keep in touch with Katy, and it gave us another team to race. We done handicap teams, so each team had an equal chance of winning, rather than straight speed racing, where the results probably would have been predictable.

Then we went onto the pups & Ben! They done a round robin jumpless speed run, best of 3 legs. In the Second session Tegan, the Kiddy’s pup also joined in.

Then on to the starters pairs. They were paired into chute dogs & box dogs (with the exception of Bailey!). Very few of the starters had actually raced any other dogs, so they done remarkably well to stay in their own racing lanes. Just the odd mishap was sorted by racing them individually.
