We were lucky to get to go to thius competition . We were on the reserve list and were only able to go when another teams pulled out.
In the end Allsorts (Archie, Tosh, Beau & Meg) went on Saturday, & Hotdogs (Molly, Spencer, Tess, Katie & Alfie) went Sunday. I had submitted seed times for both teams which made racing a little more difficult.
Allsorts had a fantastic days racing. Harvey had to cope with doing the start lights without any help, and made a brilliant job of it!! Only on 2 occasions did he forget to let go (and an easy mistake to make with those, we’ve all done it, and on many occasions!!), but we managed to make up those fractions of a second with a ‘better’ pass from Tosh. Our first three races were fairly straight forward wins, as was out last race (some close racing, but we always had Tosh’s pass to our advantage). Our most exciting race was against the Swifts, where we were 2-0 down. I thought I had come up on my passing, but obviously not enough! So I inched up a bit more, and we won the next 2 legs, giving us 2-2. Then we had a double false start. Whatever happened we were racing! Luckily, both starts dogs got away cleanly, and we went on to win! I think it was the first time Harvey had experienced just how exciting racing can get!!
Race 1: Allsorts ‘v’ Barkshire Bandidos – Won 3-1, best time 20.37
Race 2: Allsorts ‘v’ Molton Magic – Won 3-0, best time 20.58
Race 3: Allsorts ‘v’ Racing Herts – Won 3-0, best time 20.87
Race 4: Allsorts ‘v’ Swifts – Won 3-2, best time 20.50
Race 5: Allsorts ‘v’ Midshires Mud Pack – Won 3-1, best time 21.40
So we came 1st in Div 4, with a best time of 20.37. And well done to Archie for gaining his FDi title (1000 points).
Hotdogs also had a goods days racing on Sunday, with a few mishaps, which eventually gave them 3rd place in Div 3, best time 20.17. And well done to Tess for gaining her FDa title (5000 points).
