This was our first show with out the help of Modern Dog Sports, luckily with the help of Louise and the Bristol Ball-istics who done all the paper work & supplied the equipment we were able to make the competition a success.
Most of us had arrived by Friday evening, to set up the ring. We had everything sorted well before dark, so just had to await the arrival of ..our fish n chips!
And from there the w/e went by so fast .I didnt get to take any of the racing results .so this is off the top of my head!!
Saturday saw our new starter team out for the first time proper.
Bassett Jelly Babies Jess, Snip, Kelpie & Lizzie (with Willow on stand by) ran brilliantly. There were a few breath taking moments, with baby issues, they came 6th with a best time of 24.26secs.
The day was nice & relaxed, with an hour lunch break, and earlyish finish. We had a BBQ in the evening, and actually managed to sit outdoors with out freezing until about 11pm!
Sunday was the turn of Bassett Variety Pack (Katie, Archie, Spencer, Meg & Beano) & Bassett Allsorts (Tess, Molly, Tosh, Beau & Alfie). Meg had been lame on Friday, so Beano was put in the Variety Pack just incase. As it happened she didnt go lame at all!! The team had some good racing, and came 2nd in Div 2 with a best time of 19.55secs.
And finally, the poor Allsorts that had ended up in Div one, only to be thrashed (we did win about 5 legs in total!). They came 6th with a best time of 19.51secs
We also had to put on a demo on Sunday. We had 8 dogs to do Flyball-Agility. I think everyone enjoyed it. The dogs certainly did. And Cody offered his support as well!!!
