Well, we didn't get off to a good start; we had to pull Hotdogs out, and all because………..Tosh cut his pad!! So it was decided to pull out Beau, Angel & Katie, and leave Allsorts with 6 dogs………
We were seeded 5th in Div 4. The runners were Ollie, Molly, Meg, Merlin, Alfie & Spencer.
Race 1: Allsorts 'v' Bristol Ball-istic Extra-set - (Ollie, Molly, Meg & Merlin) Passes were a bit erratic - we were 2-0 down, and still room on passes. The third race was very close, and we got it, by default, and finally another light in the last race! Lost 3-1, best time 20.72. On target with our seed time!
Race 2: Allsorts 'v' Rapidz Response - (Ollie, Meg, Spencer & Alfie). Passes much better this time, and we had some close racing. Lost 3-0, best time………….19.52…………….Oops, the break out rule applied (not that it mattered on this occasion, as we had lost the race anyway), which meant that the rest of the day, we would have to watch our times!
Race 3: Allsorts 'v' Fun 4 Mutts - (Ollie, Molly, Meg & Merlin) - We managed to get some slowish passes, but still managed to win! Won 3-0, best time 19.87, so couldn't risk much more!
Race 4: Allsorts 'v' Wire Springs - (Ollie, Meg, Spencer & Alfie) - Could have given this team a run for their money (or so we would like to think!), if only……………..! Lost 3-0, best time 20.72, with lots of late passes!
Race 5: Allsorts 'v' Molten Hearts - (Ollie, Spencer, Merlin & Alfie) - Again, if only. And Marilyn got a light in the last race!!…………..Lost 3-0, best time 21.36.
As the rain looked like it had settled in for the evening, I didn't disturb the 'paper work' tent, for our times. But, as we only had one run over 22 secs all day, I think I can safely assume that Merlin & Alfie gained their FD Titles………..Well Done to both of you!
