Well, what fantastic weather we had for October. Out in polo shirts, and the more daring (from other teams!) in shorts. We potentially had 7 dogs, but were only able to field one team, so Breeze was out for this one. Team dogs were Abby, Monty, Rosie, Tosh, Ollie & Badger. One of the six teams had pulled out before Thursday, but had been replaced, and we remained as Seed 2. On the day, a further 2 teams had pulled out, so we were down to 4 races (shared between 6 dogs!), and one of those was a 'bye', and we were still seed 2. On seed times, there was 1.72 secs separating the 4 remaining teams (big difference for a division!)
First race we were against PODextras. Ollie, Abby, Rosie & Tosh 'tested the water' against the bottom seed team. We won the first race cleanly, the following 2 races, Abby fumbled the ball, and Claire was having problems with the box, so we lost those, but pulled it back together again to win the next 2. Our best time was 19.69.
Next race Hotdogs 'v' Barkshire Bandidos. On the basis of trying to give all the dogs a couple of races each, Badger & Monty raced with Abby & Ollie. They won the first 2 races, then lost one, so Badger was replaced by Tosh. We went on to win the 4th leg with a clear run, but Barkshire were having problems with their height dog. Best time 19.65
After a break, our 3rd race was our 'bye'. Ollie, Badger, Tosh & Rosie. Our first 2 races were clean runs, but I had a light in the 3rd. Best time 19.86
And finally, against the top seed team PODantics. Abby, Monty, Tosh & Rosie were going to try and beat the team who were the only seed under 19 secs. And by hook or by crook (well, lights actually!) we won 3-0, with a best time of 19.08. So having won 4 out of 4, we won our Division, best time 19.08.
