Due to a cut pad, we didn't have Abby running. It was 'odd' to be without her! (But I think Monty secretly enjoyed having the day to himself!!) So we had Spencer and Molly sharing lead position, followed by Monty, Breeze and Eddie. And Robert kindly box loaded.
If we had Abby, I think we would have done well in this division, but as it was, we lost all our races!
In our first, Allsorts 'v' Barkshire Bullets, Breeze messed around dropping the ball a couple of times, but we did win one race (on an interference call !). So we lost 3-1, with a best time of 21.05.
Allsorts 'v' Northern Bytes, and onto Ed's bad lane. Molly was also running in this race, and Dave had to judge his starts by the opposition, as he as releasing Molly from about 20 feet. Kay was doing some late passes (and wasn't sure why!), my passes weren't very good, and Eddie was ogling, but at least returning over the jumps! So all in all, although the racing went to 3-2, we narrowly lost out. Out best time was 22.10.
Allsorts 'v' Trying 4 Mutts. On this occasion, they definitely had more speed than us. We lost 3-0. Our best time was 21.69.
Allsorts 'v' Dodgers, the No. 1 seed, and back on the blue lane. Again, we tried our hardest, but we just didn't have the speed there. Dave tried to put in a couple of false starts (came up from 35 to 30 feet), and got away with it, much to Kay's and my surprise! We suddenly had to run our dogs! Dave tried again, coming up to about 27 feet, and still no light! This time though, Kay and I were prepared! And by then, it was all over! Our best time was 21.36.
Finally, Allsorts 'v' Greedy Grasshoppers. Judging by times on the board, this was going to be another close one, hopefully. We had Molly this time, and Dave was gradually bringing her back, and getting some better starts in. Monty and Breeze were doing some 'spot on' passes (we both looking for the lights!), as did Ed. They were 2-0 up, and we managed to get 2 back. It was down to the final race, could we do it? We pulled out all the stops, and the finish was tight (times had to be checked). We lost 3-2. We did gain our best time of the day, however, 20.87.
I think we were all pleased with our dogs, particularly Ed and Molly, who behaved themselves!
