Saul - 6-7th July - (Report by Anne Alderman)

This was another nightmare show, (to sort teams out), as some people could only do one specific day. I had to rearrange teams to fit in with who could go when, and get the correct seed time, for them. We finally had Hotdogs & Doggy Mixtures on Sat, and Allsorts on Sunday.

Doggy Mixtures were first on Saturday (Paris, R. Eddie, Snip, Daisy and Fudge). They didn't have the help of a fast collie this week, so they struggled to keep up with the faster teams. Eddie and Snip shared height dog duties, and I handled Paris, when Bob was racing Snip. Daisy and Fudge shared racing as well. We did have a couple of close races, but overall, lost all of them, so came 4th in Div 4.

Hotdogs (Abby, Barley, Monty and Bazil) went into Div 1 as bottom seed, as the collies were only able to attend on Saturday. They all raced well, and again there were a couple of close races, but we somehow managed to lose them in the end! Again we were 4th in Div 1, with a best time of 18.74. And just to prove their consistency, they gained that as their best time on 3 out of the 5 races!

Allsorts raced Sunday (Molly, Spencer, Badger and Breeze). So 4 dogs, no spares, no box loader and only 3 handlers, (as Chris was still on baby sitting duties) I did wonder how we were going to manage! Luckily Bristol Ball-istics came to the rescue with a box loader, and Bobbie handling Spencer. So many thanks to them! Our first race was a bit of a nightmare, but we had no team to race against! Thereafter we managed to sort ourselves out, and as with our other teams, the racing was extremely close, but we didn't win any of our races. We came 4th in Div 3. We like to be consistent! Badger also gained his FdG award.
